“Dad,
I have an idea I’d like to discuss with you.” That simple
statement was the beginning of a father/daughter partnership that
has become Endless Summer, a new state-of-the-art tanning studio in
Alexandria.
Since then, Kristen Ziebell, owner of Endless Summer, has been studying
the tanning industry, attending classes and seminars, and getting
her tanning safety certification. At the same time, she was also finishing
her small business classes at Ridgewater College in Willmar, where
she developed a business plan for opening and operating a professional
tanning studio.
She selected the name “Endless Summer” to remind clients
that the sun’s warmth and the beautiful skin color it creates
is available even in the depth of a Minnesota winter.
After studying the Alexandria area, Ziebell said she was convinced
that what was required to set her tanning studio apart was the very
best in equipment, customer service and customer safety.|
Ziebell’s search for equipment resulted in the selection of
Soltron tanning beds. Manufactured in Germany, Soltron was selected
for its state-of-the-art technology and contemporary design.
Soltron tanning beds at Endless Summer include the “Touchdown,”
“Hot Pepper” and “Wave.” These three beds
are distinguished from each other not only by the speed of the tanning,
but also by the comfort options they include.
“The ‘Wave’ has no peer,” Ziebell said. “This
12-minute sun bed provides high performance tanning as well as stereo,
air conditioning, a refreshing mist, and aromatherapy for a completely
relaxing, refreshing tanning experience.”
Ziebell’s
research also showed that people in Alexandria wanted the option
of UV-free tanning. To fill that need, she selected the technology
of Mystic Tan. “Mystic Tan is a state-of-the-art booth that
provides a UV-free tan in a matter of seconds,” she said.
Ziebell’s business plan and the Soltron equipment required
a contemporary tanning studio. She commissioned Jay Paulson of High
Point Homes to build a studio to house the tanning technology and
match the contemporary feel of Endless Summer.
“Paulson is renowned for his contemporary combination of wood,
metal and color in the traditional homes he builds in the Alexandria
area,” Ziebell said. “The studio is a showcase of his
creativity, taste, and the craftsmanship of High Point Homes and
its sub-contractors.”
Clients
who enter Endless Summer are greeted with a creative layout of bold,
bright colors accented by stained maple and brushed aluminum. Paulson’s
architecture ensures that each turn in the studio provides a pleasant
surprise of color and texture, she said. Endless Summer, which opens
on Thursday, March 3, is located in a 2,000 square foot suite in
the new Willow Creek development at 410 30th Avenue East in Alexandria.
Hours at Endless Summer are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays,
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 to 8 p.m. Sundays.
No appointment is necessary. Individual sessions are available as
well as packages for the frequent tanner. Endless Summer also offers
a wide array of tanning lotions that enhance tanning and help to
protect your skin.
“We are here to serve you, to ensure the safety of your skin,
and to help you achieve the color you desire,” Ziebell emphasized.
“At Endless Summer, the summer sun never sets.”
